This morning when we were going through Passport Control at Schiphol (how is that pronounced?) Airport, the officer looked us in the eye and implored, "WHY are you going to WARSAW???" As if to say .... NOBODY goes to Warsaw. Okay ... well, he eventually let us pass - while shaking is head in disbelief... probably is somewhat connected to the name of the airport???
The Brand New Suitcase
The beautiful new suitcase we bought for this pilgrimage broke on it's first flight. The zipper pull on the outside compartment completely came off the zipper track. Fortunately, it's the outside compartment so all our clothes didn't fall out, but there is a big flappy issue. So, our first day in Warsaw was devoted to searching the streets for a suitcase strap to hold everything together. Armed with our map, we walked left on Krakowskie Przedmiescie, right on Swietokrzyska, left on Mazowiecka, a slight detour to Krolewska and eventually left onto Marszalkowska and actually found a store that had a luggage strap! 24 zlotys plus 23% sales tax, plus 3 zlotys for the bag and we had a strap. I'm including these useful details in case anyone else has the misfortune to have a broken suitcase zipper in Warsaw.

Exciting, right?

Glad you got the suitcase situation figured out! Have fun!
